LAW FIRM MCKOOL SMITH STAYS AT THE CRESCENT OFFICE TOWERS

Crescent Renews Largest Customer in Dallas Uptown Icon for Another 18½ Years

DALLAS, April 23, 2012 – Crescent Property Services LLC announced today that McKool Smith, Crescent's largest customer at The Crescent, signed an 18½-year renewal lease for its entire footprint of approximately 100,000 square feet. As a result, The Crescent remains 90 percent leased and occupied. John Zogg and Tony Click of Crescent Property Services LLC represented the owner, while John Amend and J.W. Amend of the Amend Group represented McKool Smith.

Mike McKool, the firm's co-founder and chairman, commented about the lease, “The Crescent has been the framework of our Dallas office identity for more than 20 years. We thoroughly explored all of our options before signing back on with Crescent, and ultimately, staying made the most sense. The firm can continue to grow and expand in the place we all call our office home.”

McKool Smith, an internationally-acclaimed law firm with more than 170 trial lawyers, was founded in 1991 and has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Marshall, New York and Washington, D.C. The entrepreneurial firm has won more National Law Journal and VerdictSearch “Top 100 Verdicts” over the last five years than any other law firm.

“We were up against some major competition,” said Crescent's John Zogg. “I'd like to say it was an easy sell, but we worked hard during the last two years to create the best solution for McKool Smith. The fact that we could provide a growth platform that allows the dynamic firm to double in size in the next term was critical. We are honored that they decided to stay at The Crescent.”

John Amend added, “The McKool transaction has been one of the most talked in the marketplace. In several cases, it meant a green light for much anticipated new development. After all the hype, McKool wanted to stay at the address that has served them well for many years.”

Designed by nationally-acclaimed architect Philip Johnson, The Crescent Office Towers total 1.1 million square feet in three contiguous buildings and, with the adjacent Rosewood Crescent Hotel, are the centerpiece of Uptown Dallas.
