Korshak in the Spotlight during The Crescent Property's 25th Anniversary Celebration on September 30th

DALLAS, TX, September 20, 2011 – Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC announced today that it has signed Dallas retail icon Stanley Korshak for another ten years. Stanley Korshak, known world-wide for its lavish customer service and high-end clothing, home furnishings, and bridal store, has occupied 63,000 square feet of the 159,000-square-foot Shops at Crescent Court since the property's opening in 1986. Tony Click, Crescent vice president leasing, brokered the renewal.

Crawford Brock, owner of Stanley Korshak, said about the renewal, “I can't imagine the store being anywhere else. For 25 years, customers from around the world know they can find us right here in the heart of Uptown in the most prestigious property. And our relationship with Crescent couldn't be better. No, we're not going anywhere.”

John Zogg, Crescent managing director, added, “We are so proud to have one of the world’s finest specialty department stores here at The Crescent. Having Stanley Korshak in our own backyard provides such an exceptional amenity for our customers and the entire Dallas community.”

On September 30, 2011, The Crescent property is hosting a fall celebration benefitting AT&T Performing Arts Center’s educational programs in honor of the property’s 25th anniversary. The event features live music by Emerald City and the Dallas String Quartet, culinary delights by property restaurants including The Crescent Club, Nobu, and The Capital Grille, and an extensive live auction offering products and experiences from the best of Dallas. Stanley Korshak, also celebrating its 25th anniversary, will be presenting the latest men’s and women’s fashions at the event. Tickets for the Crescent Fall Celebration can still be purchased at www.crecentfallcelebration.com or 866-228-3243.

Stanley Korshak opened a namesake general merchandise store in Chicago circa 1909 that grew to carry European luxury goods. The Chicago store closed in the early Eighties, and Dallas oil heiress Caroline Rose Hunt bought the rights to the name. She opened Stanley Korshak as a designer clothing store in the courtyard of shops at Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Dallas in 1986.

During the store's first year of operations, Hunt hired Crawford Brock to manage Stanley Korshak, and in 2002, Brock bought the retail icon. Brock's philosophy of excellence evolved from the late Stanley Marcus, the retail oracle who transformed Neiman Marcus from an obscure Dallas gem into an international fashion nameplate. Marcus personally schooled Brock for eight years, emphasizing customer service, obtaining the best merchandise, keeping up with the lifestyles of clients, and maintaining close relationships with vendors.
